A welcome from Evgeny Romanov

It is up to enrollee to decide what programme to choose and what kind of criteria to take into account when making decision. One major may be advised by friends, the other is easier to enter, the third is relatively cheap. For some people it makes no difference where to study, getting a Diploma for them is the most important factor.

One of the main constituents of our success is great demand of our graduates in the labor market. Here we can refer to the results: 98% of full time graduates of 2004 found jobs. This is the highest indicator in comparison with the other two state higher education institutions located on the territory of the Mari EL republic.

Our graduates are in a better position on the job market due to their creative potential. Students are taught to use creative approaches as during their studies they are actively involved in scientific research activities, which annually bring the University tens of millions roubles. Besides the opportunity to earn some money and train for the future job, students have a chance to get for internships to the leading foreign higher education institutions in Germany, Finland, Bulgaria, Austria, Greece and the USA.

Nowadays we have 10 departments at MarSTU and more than 11 thousand students from all parts of Russia. Among over 50 thousand alumni of the University there are famous people, including governors and heads of large enterprises.

I can list several advantages of studying here.

The university is very well equipped - we have modern classrooms and laboratories in 5 study buildings of the university.

Far beyond Russia people know about the Multimedia Systems laboratory where they develop CD and DVD with electronic educational resources (their "Virtual Chemistry laboratory" became the award-winner at the International exhibition in Cannes in France).

Among other university attractions is our own botanical garden which covers the area of 71 hectare - it is   a unique "live laboratory" for scientific research.

We are very proud of our hostels with light and clean rooms, where we can accommodate students who come here from other regions, scientific library with a stock of over 1 million (!) textbooks and training manuals, modern sports complex, theatre-studio, club of merry and witty, chamber choir, studio of classical and pop music,  - the prize winner of many Russian competitions.

What else can I add? Unlike numerous private higher educational institutions, MarSTU is a time-proved laboratory where we train professionals, people able to adapt to the labor market and influence it. That is what all our activity at MarSTU, one of the best hundred Russian higher educational institutions, aimed at.
